How we was born and how we work: All begin at the end of 20th century, when we bought a cat, wished for long time. So it came to live with us Cathy, a sweet female cream persian. After some months, we had Charlie, beautiful silver shaded male persian. After six months we added Esterina, a female exotic shorthair very sweety. From these our friends is born in June 2002 Fortunata, the smallest of three kittens. It is always with us: it sleeps with us, eats with us, run when we return home. In 2003 we obtained Gens Julia cattery name. We bought some cats and we went to breed.
From 2007, we breed also another colour persians, and now are living with us Swanii and Malibu, very beatiful cats.
Gens Julia doesn't go to expositions or competitions, because cups and ribbons aren't importants for us. Instead, we think very important tranquillity, health and education of our little friends.
Our awards.
Our awards, very importants for us, are the friendhip that wires us and people that has our kittens.
Daniela and Alessandro, Michela and Roberto, Deborah, Francesca, Cinzia, Manuela, Laura and Paolo, Alessandra, Jennifer, Francesca, Nicoletta, Graziella, Lorena, Nadia, Michela, Rosanna and Pamela, Roberta, Giuliana, Franca, are some of these and they are very important for to go on in our breeder activity. We want to thank all them.
How many cats?
Our little cattery has a small number of adults. This is our choice. Our friends live free in the house an we can attend them wery well. Quality and quantity are often in conflict. Cats are territorials and if they are too much is possible to have behaviour problems, and this is no good for all and for kittens too.
Healt.
Our friends are in good healt, but this isn't a permanent condition. For this, Gens Julia cattery is helped by a veterinary staff. Our cats are often checked, tested and vaccinated. We live in a calcareous area, for this, our cats drink exclusively mineral water, to prevent urinary problems.
Pedigree is important.
Some people think that pedigree is necessary only for competitions. This is false. Pedigree is importnt for know the origin of your cat and its parents; is a certification that your cat is pure and growed in a good place. In other words, it is probable you have a good cat. Commitment.
Our duty is constant. A lot of our time is spent for our cats. The persians must are comb every day, eyes must are cleaned often; floor of home must be washed and cleaned every day by neutral products, plates, pillows and all thinks for them must be cleaned. A breeder hasn't holidays, but he lives with authentic friends.
The Home.
At home, cats are free; we don't leave them to go in the garage or in the store to prevent perils or dangerous situations. They always can have a hidden corner where sleep.
Recently we have built a little veranda for the cats, and they are very happy. Here they can look thru the window, sleep or play.
Kittens are happy in this room too and they spend a lot of time with their mother playing or sleeping.
